About Padula

Padula is a city in southern Italy known primarily for the Certosa di San Lorenzo, one of the largest Carthusian monasteries in Europe.

The monastery’s extensive cloisters, frescoed chapels, and vast library attract architectural historians and cultural travelers, especially between April and October when the weather supports outdoor visits. In summer, the city hosts traditional religious processions and local market days that offer insights into regional customs.
